Dennis Rodman, temporarily detained for a debt of € 3400November 18, 2009
Dennis Rodman, former star of American basketball, was temporarily detained in Germany after trying to leave the hotel without paying an invoice for 3400 euros.
According to prosecutor Jurgen Bauer, after Rodman’s demonstrative game “Legends of USA Basketball,” played in the city of Trier, western Germany, Dennis organized a party in his hotel room, at which were consumed beverages in amount of 3400 euro.
The organizers of the game agreed to pay Rodman’s accommodation at the hotel, but not its additional costs, said Bauer. Monday morning, when preparing to leave without paying, the hotel representative called police, who later stopped on the highway the American star’s limousine.
Rodman was detained and later released after agreeing to pay the hotel bill, plus a surcharge of 1700 Euros to avoid a possible legal challenge, the prosecutor added.
